We are one of the last countries in the northern hemisphere still relying on these little pieces of brightly coloured plastic to hang our shelves, fix up our shower screens and shower, hold our electrical installations, fix wiring, lights and basically hold anything we could ever hope for. fischer UK launch the latest addition to their market leading concrete screw the FBS II. The latest addition to the range is the FBS II CP. The concrete screw has an innovative surface coating that consists of 3 different layers of protection. The screw has been tested using salt sprays tests and there anchors have guaranteed corrosion resistance over 2000 hours according to DIN EN ISO 9927. The FBS II CP therefore offers unrivalled corrosion protection for the UK market that is better that HDG anchors and realistically bridges the gap between standard GVZ and stainless steel.

Due to fischer’s close relationship with Carillion and NG Bailey M&E, they had the opportunity to work on the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital Smethwick after a two-year delay. It will be a new acute general hospital being built near Birmingham which will become the civic heart of the area and an obvious point of pride for the community.
The hospital was originally contracted by Carillion until they went into liquidation in January 2018 which caused major delays in the completion. Our DuoLine range is already the most successful plug in the UK – something we’re obviously very proud of.
We’re constantly looking to innovate and develop new products that we know our customers will both like and benefit from using.
Our latest innovation in the Duoline range is the DuoXpand.
With this product you get a slightly different design and we’re also moving away from plasterboard and general fixings into heavy duty frame fixings. The DuoXpand adapts to the building materials and is ideally suited for hollow block or aircrete.
In ETA assessments different temperature specifications are given. Relevant for the design and load comparisons are the in-service temperature ranges (= temperature in the substrate during the service life of the anchoring). The long-term temperature is calculated by 0.6 x short-term temperature (e.g. 120 °C short-term temperature ≥ +72 °C long-term temperature).
